Manchester Cathedral Events

Manchester Cathedral already has a website built and hosted by RO Web Solutions, and they wanted a 'microsite' developing to help promote the hiring out of cathedral facilities for corporate and other events.

The Brief

A limited budget was available for this project, but the requirements included having the facility to pretty much manage all the content on the site - photos, page copy, testimonials, partner information, downloadable PDF documents and more.

Additionally there needed to be a contact form to allow potential clients to register their interest in hiring out one of the venues.

The cathedral attracts some big-name clients, so the website had to look professional and to effectively promote the grandeur of the halls and their facilities.

Our Solution

We wanted to give the cathedral an up-to-date image so we chose a fully-responsive, single-page design that uses smooth parallax scrolling effects and Javascript animation techniques to provide a contemporary feel.

We had access to excellent internal photos and one of these features as the prominent 'hero' image at the top of the page.

Each menu item scrolls smoothly to the relevant section and these are all fully managed by admin staff at the cathedral via a custom modified content management framework. The contact form is ajax-enabled.

The site has proved very popular since launch with many enquiries for large corporate events being placed via the contact form.
